I don’t know how many TV shows I am currently following, but I do know that 4 of them are on AMC (used to be 5, but SOMEONE didn’t like Rubicon enough). I’ve already written little blurbs about how much I love Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. I also just recently fell in love with The Killing (now every time someone talks about Seattle, all I think about is rain and murder). Basically, if AMC was a woman, I would be too intimidated to talk to her at a bar.
What’s next you say? Why the wild west of course! Cowboys and motherfraacking Indians, the Civil War, and the Transcontinental Railroad – they’re are all featured in AMC’s new TV show Hell on Wheels, premiering this year.

Just hours after my previous post I was perusing around IGN and read that Frank Darabont has confirmed Season 2 of The Walking Dead. This is good news. This means that the show is so good that AMC doesn’t feel the need to test season 1 before they greenlight season 2. There will be 13 episodes, and they are supposed to start shooting in February 2011.
For more about Season 2 and the possibility of casting Michonne, visit IGN.
I don’t know about you, but I can not wait for the zombie apocalypse. First thing I’m going to do is grab my surviving group of friends. Next, I will take over the closest Walmart. Just think about it. Walmart has everything you need to survive. Slowly eat your way through the food– fresh to canned. You have ammo and guns, clothes and toiletries… practically anything you would need to survive. Plus you can get on the roof for some fun afternoon zombie sniping, then at night head over to the electronics section and watch a movie or play some video games. With all the video games, board games, and lego boxes, who could get bored?
As you can see, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about zombies. So it should come as no surprise that I am super excited about AMC’s new up and coming show The Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead, based on the comic book by the same name, is about Police officer Rick Grimes and his attempt at leading a group of survivors in a world overrun by zombies. When I first heard someone was finally doing a zombie TV show I was skeptical. I knew someone was going to fuck it up. Then I heard the show is on AMC. I immediately got super excited. AMC, so far, has been pretty amazing at acquiring TV shows worth watching. Breaking Bad is amazing, Mad Men is irritatingly addicting, and even their new show Rubicon has me watching every week. Zombies check AMC check Frank Darabont, wa wa wa wa WHAT! You mean the writer/director of amazing films such as The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile is behind The Walking Dead!? Well, now I’m just ecstatic.
The show, which airs October 31st, was shot in Atlanta. This is also exciting because Atlanta is close to where I reside and a place I plan on trying to find a job after I graduate. So, be sure to watch it when it airs so that it receives a 2nd season, and let’s pray it stays shooting in the ATL.
